It could also mentally enthrall lesser beings to do its bidding. Xorr's crystalline composition possesses inherent electromagnetic properties powerful enough to realign planets.
History: The ancient civilization on the planet Xorr had spawned thousands of lesser humanoid races including the Skrulls, the Kree, and even mankind; but 6 million years ago, Xorr's sun was on the verge of going nova. The Xorrians had 2 centuries to prepare for their world's death and eventually constructed giant machines which covered Xorr with an impenetrable shell of nuclear force at the moment the sun exploded. The shell protected Xorr from the force of the sun's explosion, which rocketed the planet into the depths of space. For centuries, Xorr careened through space within its shell and, over the eons, the shell slowly contracted, its nuclear base causing the planet within to contract along with it. Eventually, Xorr shrank to a thousands of its original size and its nuclear shell crystallized. One million years ago, the jewel-like former planet crashed into a barren, mile-wide asteroid in the Dark Nebula where it remained untouched for millennia. The jewel eventually enthralled a group of travelers who entered the Dark Nebula and forced them to start excavating the jewel form the asteroid's depths. The miners founded Orion Base on the asteroid and devoted their lives to protecting the jewel.
Six years ago, the magnetic polarity of Mercurio the 4-D Man's homeworld was altered so that its atmosphere transformed and admitted only the extremes of the electromagnetic wavelength, causing its inhabitants to die. Years later, the planet's leader sent Mercurio to obtain Xorr's electromagnetic properties in order to restore his planet's proper alignment. Mercurio led several attacks on the miners of Orion Base in an attempt to obtain the God-Jewel. Meanwhile, the God-Jewel trapped the Asgardians Sif and Karnilla the Norn-Queen, intending to use their life-energies to restore itself to its rightful place in the universe. This prompted Thor and an Asgardian rescue team to enter the Dark Nebula in search of their fellow gods. The Asgardians were drawn into the battle between Mercurio and the miners at first, but were ultimately imprisoned alongside Mercurio while the miners rocketed the God-Jewel into space and out of the Dark Nebula in search of galaxies upon which to feed; but the Asgardians and Mercurio followed, causing Xorr to manifest itself in a massive humanoid form and inform Thor that Sif would die if the jewel were damaged. Fearful of attacking Xorr directly, the Asgardians tricked Xorr into feeding upon a star that was on the verge of going nova. Mercurio used his powers to free Sif and Karnilla just before the nova caused Xorr to explode into tiny jewel fragments, which Mercurio then collected to save his homeworld.
It has been speculated that some of the jewel remnants of Xorr were transported across time and space by the force of the explosion, and that they may have made up much of the Lifestone Tree.
