Thanos
means to destroy the planet Harmony, the homeworld of Beta Ray Bill and
his people (for some reason, they are called the Winnum here instead of
Korbonites like in the comics). The Silver Surfer arrives to warn
them and finds them caught up in warrior fantasies created by the Dream
Weaver, unable to even care for themselves. The Surfer is forced
to enter the dream himself and gets caught up in it. He finally
manages to free himself and convinces Beta Ray Bill that the right thing
to do is free his people from the dream and return to the harsh reality.
After doing so, Bill reveals that they no longer have any weapons,
technology, or ships - only the Dream Weaver is left. The Surfer
plans to use the Dream Weaver to convince Thanos that he was successful.
The plan works and Thanos leaves, believing that Lady Chaos (in the
comics, she's Death - but whatever) has revealed herself at last to him.
But the Dream Weaver was destroyed in the attempt, and Bill's people are
forced to accept their current fallen conditions. Two interesting
things to note are, the enemies they fought in the dream are the
Kronans, also known as the Stone Men From Saturn, and Bill's voice
sounded kind of like a Scottish accent.
